Why do I need an endcap on laminte floor?

What is the reason or need a trim cap or laminate flooring. I wanted to put carpet against the laminate and was told it needed a first end cap. Why is that? I know that's not right, because you leave in between / 1 4 room and the trim laminte

I answered your other question about "the end of bars" and then saw this. The purpose of an end casting is provide a smooth, rounded surface, to exit. If you can not be used to catch the sharp edge of the laminate may have a toe now and then. Also, this edge would probably show if you have a very deep Rugs have. It is probably not quite straight and will have some chips. The casting is typically installed and the carpet is ready either tack strip or turn and tack method, which I described earlier. I installed a few floors without casting in emergencies, but it usually looks much better if you use them.
